Rules
Driver Roster Due Date.
Your picks are due before Noon on Thurs. Feb 16, 2006 for the Spring Season. Picks will be due before Noon on Fri July 16,2006 for the Fall Season.
Spring Season
The Spring Season includes the first 18 races of the year - staring with Daytona Feb.19, 2006.
Fall Season
The Fall Season includes the second 18 races of the year - starting with July 16,2006
Picking Your Team
Each team consists of a total of 15 drivers. Be sure to pick the appropriate number of drivers in each group. EACH PICK COUNTS FOR THE DRIVER, NOT THE CAR NUMBER. The numbers are assigned just to make it easier to calculate the results.
If Shawna Robinson drives the #20 car while Tony Stewart recovers from a hangnail injury, you do NOT get points because you have #20 - Tony Stewart on your team, but you would get credit for #49 - Shawna Robinson if she was on your team.

Points are awarded to the DRIVER that STARTS the race. For example, Shawna Robinson drives the #20 car while Tony Stewart is recovering from a hangnail injury. Robinson is the driver that gets the points. However, if Stewart starts the race and Robinson relieves Stewart on Lap 20, then Stewart gets the points.
Only the top 12 driver points will count towards the team total each race. The lowest three driver points will be dropped each race.
Penalties
The official NASCAR race results are typically published on www.nascar.com on Monday morning. These are the results that are used to determine the point scoring for the Fantasy League. If NASCAR penalizes a driver by dropping their finishing position in the race, thereby affecting the official race results, then the Fantasy League scoring will reflect the scoring change. However, if NASCAR penalizes a driver by subtracting points from that driver, and not changing their finishing position in the race, then the Fantasy League scoring will NOT take the points away.
Results
An Excel spreadsheet will be posted each week, typically on Monday or Tuesday evening. This spreadsheet will show the season results, the weekly results, the official race results, each Fantasy League team and their scoring.
Tiebreakers
If a tie occurs for First or Second Place for the weekly results, the winner will be determined by who has the highest finishing driver on their team that the others do not. For example, if Team A and Team B tie and the teams both have the 1st place driver and the 3rd place driver, and Team A has the 7th place driver and Team B has the 10th place driver, Team A wins the week.
If a tie occurs at the end of the Season, the winner will be determined by who has the most number of weekly wins. If the teams are still tied, the winner will be determined by who has the most number of second place weekly finishes, and so on, until the tie is broken. For example, if Team A and Team B tie and the teams both have 1 weekly 1st and 1 weekly 2nd, but Team A has 2 weekly 3rd and Team B has 0 weekly 3rd, Team A finishes higher. This is identical to the Winston Cup tie breaking system.
Driver Trades
Each team will be allowed one (1) free driver trade before each race of the season. Therefore, if you trade before every race of the season, you can make 18 trades. However, you may not "bank" your trades. If you don't make a trade before Race #7, you may NOT make two (2) trades before Race #8 but you may make one (1). In simpler terms, before each race you "Use your trade or lose your trade." Once you make a trade, the new driver becomes a permanent part of your team.
The driver trades can occur in either of the 7 driver Groups, may be done multiple times in the same list (making 2 trades within Group A), and may involve the same driver each time (dropping Jeff Gordon for Rusty Wallace and then later, after coming to your senses, dropping Wallace and picking Gordon back up). You may also trade a Driver in Group G for a driver not on the original list (this would be a write-in). However, you CANNOT trade drivers BETWEEN groups (dropping Tony Stewart in Group A and picking up Shawna Robinson in Group G).
When you make a driver change, you only get the points of the new driver from that race on. Example: You currently have Rusty Wallace. You decide to play smart and drop Wallace and pick up Jeff Gordon before the Bristol 500. Wallace's race points count in the season total for each race up to Bristol and Gordon's race point count in the season total for Bristol and all races following. Gordon's points before Bristol do NOT count toward the team point total.
Trading Deadline
All trades must be in to me by NOON ON THE FRIDAY BEFORE A RACE in order for the trade to be active for that race, regardless of when qualifying is held. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Please use the following format when sending me trades. I cannot always decipher who is sending me the trade from your e-mail address and it's a pain to look it up. I'm not going to do it yet, BUT if this format is not followed there may be a mid-season rule change that will not allow any trade not in this format:
NAME drops ## - DRIVER NAME and picks up ## - DRIVER NAME
(example - Pat Johnson drops #2 - Wallace and picks up #24 - Gordon)
Error Corrections
If I make an error in your team, in your team scoring, or with your trade for a particular race, you have until NOON ON THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE NEXT RACE to let me know. For example, the results for the Charlotte 500 (ran on Sunday, 10/13) go out on Tuesday, 10/15. You have until noon on Friday, 10/18 (which is also the trade deadline for the Martinsville 500 to be run on Sunday, 10/20) to let me know of any errors. I will save all the trades for the Charlotte race up to that point and can easily make a correction. After that, the trades will be deleted and the results become official.
I understand that you may be on vacation that week and may not be able to let me know of a correction until after the deadline. That is not a problem, BUT you must be able to provide me proof of the trade. In other words, I will need to see a copy of the e-mail you sent me that includes the time and date you sent me the trade. If you cannot provide proof, then the trade did not happen. I suggest that you save the trade e-mail you sent me until you verify it when the race results come out.
I typically do not input the trades until the Monday after the race. Therefore, if you make a trade that is illegal (you are trying to trade away a driver you don't have, you are trying to pick up a driver you already have, you are trying to trade between groups, etc.) and I don't catch it until after the race is over, then your trade for the week is void. Sorry, but it takes up too much time to verify everybody's trade as they come in. It is much easier for you to do that on your own.
Trade Rule Amendment In addition to the normal trade rule, owners will also be allowed to trade down. For example, each team is allowed 3 drivers in group B, you drop a driver in this group, you will be allowed to pickup your new driver in group B or in any group below that group. If a owner trades down, they cannot trade back up. The example above that team would go down to 2 drivers in group B and the only way to go back to three would be to trade down from group A. Each team will still be allowed only one (1) trade each week, but owners may use this rule at any time, and for more than one pick when picking their fall roster.
